Robust housing solution for protection against mechanical influences

Robust housing solution for protection against mechanical influences

The tried and tested housings of size 115 are the ideal protection when modern encoders are to be used in harsh environments. The massive reinforced bearing unit absorbs large forces that can act on the shaft. Depending on the application, the rotary encoder is mounted via the solid flange with centering ring or the mounting foot. Both versions are capable dissipating heavy impacts and high loads from the encoder. This can happen in case of collisions with floor conveyors or if the sensor (contrary to the intended use) is abused as a climbing aid.

Encoders of the generation 2 are installed in the housing of the C_V115. This means that all interfaces and interface combinations of this modern rotary encoder series are also available in a heavy duty execution. Provided with a standard interface, the short design is sufficient. For environments with frost, the housing can be equipped with a heater. A separate connector is used to supply the heating electronic. In this configuration and with optional additional interfaces such as SSI, analog or incremental signal, the longer version of the housing is delivered.

C_V115 is another component that further increases the user’s freedom in using modern encoders. If the interface is defined for a system, the wide range of mechanical solutions from TR-Electronic make it possible to use the selected interface and encoder technology in almost all environmental conditions to which a system may be exposed.

C_V115 is thus ideally suited for applications in heavy industry, open pit mining and ship-to-shore logistics solutions.
